Are you a translator or interpreter who wants to hear from agency owners what they look for in the professionals they work with? Are you a seasoned language services provider who is wondering how to take that next step and grow your business from a solo venture into something bigger?

At our Spring workshop on 27 April, the owners of Ruspan Communications Group, Tatiana Shcherbinina, and P & P Language Services, Corp., Alma Pesqueira, will share with us their experiences of starting up and running their language services businesses. After their presentations, they will provide a panel Q&A discussion where you can ask your burning questions about how to get agencies’ attention as a professional translator/interpreter or how to get yourself into a position where you are running an agency contracting other translators and interpreters. Learn more about the presenters and their companies below.

A light breakfast will be provided, and an optional no-host social “meetup” will follow at a nearby pizzeria.

Don’t miss it! Saturday, 27 January, 08:00 – 13:00 (full schedule) at ASU Tempe campus (location information).

    Traffic and Parking

Many roads, including Rural Road and Rio Salado Drive, will be closed in the northeast section of and area around the ASU Tempe campus this morning for Pat’s Run. (Click here for a detailed list of road closures.)

The following driving approaches to the venue are recommended, depending on where you are coming from:

From East of Campus on Westbound 202
The Rural exit will be closed. Northbound Mill Avenue will be closed, but you should be able to exit on Mill. However, you may want to continue to Priest Dr. and then backtrack a little to Mill via University to avoid potential congestion.

Arriving from West or South of Campus on any Freeway
Other directions of arrival should be less affected by closures and race congestion. Consider exiting the eastbound 202 at Priest, taking the 143 south to University, or the 10 east to Broadway. Once off whichever freeway, make your way to Mill Avenue, and then drive toward 10th street.

    Parking
Public parking is available at the 10th Street Parking Garage on the east side of Myrtle Avenue between 9th and 10th streets and just north of Coor Hall. Parking is $3 per hour and/or max $10 for the day. Blaze Pizzeria is just a ten-minute walk from Coor Hall, so you can park once for both the Workshop and meetup.
