American Translators Association (ATA) - The largest professional association of translators and interpreters in the U.S. ATA's mission is to promote the recognition of professional translators and interpreters, to facilitate communication among its members, to establish standards of competence and ethics, to provide its members with professional development opportunities, and to advocate on behalf of the profession.

National Association of Judiciary Interpreters & Translators (NAJIT) - Promotes the highest professional standards in the field of legal interpreting and translating. NAJIT provides continuing education for professionals to grow their knowledge, refine their skills, and stay updated on innovations within the profession.

Arizona Court Interpreter Credentialing Program (ACICP)

• Court Interpreter Practice Materials - Practice materials developed by the National Center for State Courts for skill-building, practice, and exam preparation. Medical/Healthcare Interpreter Certification

• Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) - CCHI offers two national certifications for medical interpreters: the performance-based Certified Healthcare Interpreter™ (CHI™) for Spanish, Arabic, and Mandarin interpreters and the knowledge-based Core Certification Healthcare Interpreter™ (CoreCHI™) for interpreters of all other languages.
• National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) - NBCMI offers two national credentials for medical interpreters: full CMI certification in Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese and the HUB-CMI for interpreters of all languages.

Formal training in interpreting is available from several institutions throughout the country, offering in-person and/or online instruction.

• Florida International University offers an online Certificate in Translation & Interpretation for English<>Spanish for FIU degree-seeking students.
• Middlebury Institute of International Studies offers in-person Master of Arts degrees in Translation, Translation and Interpretation, and Conference Interpretation.
• New York University offers an online Master of Science in Translation & Interpreting.
• Phoenix College offers an American Sign Language, Deaf Studies and Interpreter Preparation program that includes an Associate degree in Interpreter Preparation and certificates in Deaf Studies and Interpreter Preparation.
• Pima Community College offers a Certificate in Translation & Interpretation Studies for the English<>Spanish language combination.
• University of Arizona's National Center for Interpretation is home of the Court Interpreter Training Institute (CITI) and also offers on-demand training, self-study products, and webinars.
• University of California San Diego Extension offers an online Certificate in Translation and Interpretation (Spanish/English).
